Gibson and Epiphone guitars also have several designs and models of electric guitars. I love the semi hollow and 3/4 size hollow body electric guitars available. BB King and many others play a thin semi-hollow body electric guitar. You will be more familiar with these types of guitars being that you play acoustic guitar now. Full size or 3/4 size hollow electric guitars are played by many well known guitarists in jazz, pop, country… Plus the Gibson - Epiphone solid body electrics are well known to most guitar players… Les Paul, Flying V, SG are good choices.
At least you have some experience with playing acoustic guitar. In your research, be careful of Sales hype and plush looking guitar pictures in magazines or online that can be enhanced to look better digitally… I would never purchase a guitar worth more than a 100- 200 bucks online or mail - freight without first playing it and then putting it through my solid battery of testing and I mean REAL testing. If it passes, I may buy it or take serious notes in my head or written so I may get it later.
Maybe you saw or played a good guitar during your guitar travels in the past. Some of the best guitars I own and play were from word of mouth or being in the right place at the right time.
Print these suggestions along with all the other answers and re-read them. The valuable suggestions will be remembered and you will be more apt to make a better choice. If you just want the name of a few electric guitars, you will still be very happy with my recommendations here. I think you would be much more satisfied with playing several guitar brands both used and new… before acquiring that electric guitar. Oh by the way, exceptional guitar treasures are out there. I have a couple that I found at a garage sale and in the back room of a no name music store. I never knew it then, that they would eventually be worth now, in the 6 figures $$.
Most of all “Have Fun” playing guitar…. In summary; I recommend a name brand electric guitar thats in good used condition. Fender, Gibson, Epiphone or Ibanez.
